Murals
Making art on a large scale is a totally different vibe from making things in sketchbooks or on paper.
I initially started doing this on the walls in my family's home. I painted my first mural when I was 14. I had no idea what I was doing, but that was most definitely part of the fun. It was pretty much all free hand with cooler tones. I have since grown a lot creatively since then. I painted a new mural this year for my family of a mountainous landscape with vivid colors and a sunset. I'm looking to move into full time creating large scale art this year!
Ren Makes Art
I started this project to hopefully have the opportunity to share my creations with the world. I never initially thought I would ever have a store, let alone a business. But, I have received enough encouragement over my many years creating to reach the point of selling products and hopefully creating a community around it.
My goal with this project is to hopefully give back to the world what I never received, and always wanted as a kid. I want to create a supportive and loving community centered around art. Not just my own, but all of your creations too. I want to create places all over the world where people can go to decompress and make beautiful things with people like minded to themselves. I want to help facilitate a safe space for people with trauma who feel they have no where else to go. I want to make a place where people feel comfortable to be themselves fully, and create art with others.
Ren Makes Art will be a place of comfort for everyone. The same way that raves and concerts are for many. Granted, it will take a few years to reach this goal, but this is going to happen before I leave this world.
I also want to start doing tattoos and create a safe space around that as well. I figure a lot of my art ends up looking like possible tattoo designs, so I want to give it a shot at least.
The point is, Ren Makes Art is a safe space for all the "freaks" of the world. It is a place of love and acceptance, focused around creating and being around art of all types.

Artist Bio
Ren is an independent artist coming from Lakeville, a suburb of Minneapolis. She began her artistic journey at the age of 7, inspired by the comic books her father gave her.
She spent countless hours mastering panel drawings and eventually began creating her own unique designs.
Today, Ren resides in Salt Lake City, where she blends her passions for snowboarding and art, staying true to her creative spirit. Her work ranges from intricate tattoo designs and stunning landscapes to surreal imagery that feels as though it could only exist in altered states of consciousness.

Artist Statement
My goal with my art is to make things that the viewer needs to stare at for a minute to truly understand what's going on in the piece. My favorite kind of art to look at is the kind where when you keep looking at it, you keep seeing new details in the work. I aim to emulate that in my own work. I merge known ideas with loud colors to hopefully evoke that "wow" factor in the viewer.

Growth
Growing is an essential part of the human experience. I hope that you'll choose to stick around so we can grow together in our creativity. Art is the window through which the soul expresses itself.
